Meet the Team

Charlie started plumbing at the age of 14 in Sydney, before moving to the Gold Coast in 1971. Charlie founded the business on the Gold Coast in 1978 and was the director of the company until 2006. Still a major part of the business, Charlie continues to provide a wealth of knowledge and support to our family run business that has grown from a single plumber to a company that now employs 14 staff. Charlie, a licenced plumber, drainer and gas fitter and also holds extra plumbing licence endorsements including Backflow Prevention installation and testing and Thermostatic Mixing Valve installation and testing.

Ben has 29 years experience in the plumbing trade and is a licenced Plumber Drainer and Gas Fitter. Extra endorsements on Ben’s plumbing licence include Backflow prevention, Thermostatic Mixing Valves, Solar and Heat Pump installations. Ben is licenced to carry out Restricted Electrical Works. After completing a Diploma in Hydraulic Construction and becoming a member of the Hydraulic Association of Australia, Ben worked as a plumber and a hydraulic consultant in Australia and overseas before returning home to work in the family business.

Christian has 27 years of experience in the plumbing trade and is a licenced Plumber Drainer and Gas Fitter. Extra endorsements on Christian’s plumbing licence include Thermostatic Mixing Valves and Solar & Heat Pump installations. Christian is also licenced to carry out Restricted Electrical Works. Christian worked as a plumber in Australia and overseas before returning home to work in the family business.

As the office manager, Christine has been a part of Charlie the Plumber since 1978. A major part of our business is having the office run a smooth as possible. With Christine in the office we can get on with the plumbing works on site when required.

Danielle is one of Charlie’s daughters and is the most recent addition to our team. Danielle has joined the team on a part-time basis and is a personal assistant to Ben and Christian. Danielle’s experience in marketing and fresh ideas are being used to their full advantage.

Brodie is the most recent addition to our team and is well respected within the Charlie the Plumber family. Always willing to get his hands dirty and take on the challenges that are presented within the maintenance plumbing industry, Brodie is a very important part of our team

Daniel has 7 years of experience in the plumbing trade however, the level of work produced by Daniel exceeds the number of years he has had in the trade. Daniel has a wide range of skills within the maintenance plumbing industry and is a no-nonsense type of plumber. We have a lot of respect for Daniel and he is a valuable part of our team.

Deb works behind the scenes in our accounts department and assists with general duties within the office.

Jason has been an integral part of the Charlie the Plumber team for 6 years. As well as being a licensed plumber, Jason is one of the leading Gasfitters on the Gold Coast, with detailed experience and knowledge in gas repairs in domestic and commercial gas appliances and properties, gas systems in boats, caravans, camper trailers and food trucks. Originally from New Zealand, Jason started his apprenticeship in New Zealand in 2003 and worked in the industry until 2008 before moving to Australia. He is honest, reliable, hard-working and with experience in both plumbing and gas services.

Jack has been with our company for 10 years and is a very important part of our team. Jack is reliable, hard-working and is a well-respected team member who has a very high standard of workmanship. Jack is very resourceful and has become one of the lead maintenance plumbers within the company.

Des has been a part of our team since February 2015 and is a licenced plumber drainer and gas fitter with 38 years of experience. Des has worked for himself in South Africa before moving to and working in New Zealand and then Australia. Des has been positioned full time at Bond University for the last 7 years carrying out preventative and reactive plumbing maintenance.

Paul started working with Charlie in the late 1970’s. With over 50 years of experience in the plumbing trade, it is a massive advantage to have Paul on our team. Paul specialises in plumbing maintenance in commercial buildings, high rises and resorts. Having the privilege to work with, and learn from Paul as an apprentice and now as business owner’s is something that Ben and Christian very much appreciate.

Greg has been a part of our team since 1991 and is a loyal, honest and reliable plumber that is capable of completing a wide range of plumbing work. Greg is also a licenced drainer and gas fitter and has 47 years’ experience in the plumbing trade. Greg’s plumbing licence is also endorsed to carry out work on backflow prevention valves, thermostatic mixing valves and solar & heat pump installations. Greg is also licenced to carry out Restricted Electrical Works.
